INGREDIENTS:
- Palak Leaves washed and chopped 2 cups
- Pigeon Peas 2 cups (Or a combination of toor and chana dal)
- Onion 1 big chopped
- Ginger Paste 1tsp
- Garlic Cloves 1/2 tbsp chopped
- Green chilies 4 nos. slit
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Tomatoes 2 nos. chopped
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Salt as required
- Mustard oil 2 tbsp
- Water 3 cups
METHOD:

Cook the dal in pressure cooker and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Once hot add cumin seeds. When they crackle add onions and green chilies.
Cook till the onions turn pink and translucent.
Add the chopped tomatoes and salt. Once they turn soft add the chopped palak.
Cook in a medium flame till the spinach shrinks. Add the cooked dal and mix well.

Add water according to the desired consistency.
Bring this to a nice boil. Serve hot with rice.
